“The Scream Concert Series will be dedicated to highlighting individual artists and helping to bring them further into the spotlight and their popularity more into the mainstream,” said Michael Mauldin, Creator and Founder of the Scream Tour. “We are using our proven marketing machine and resources to help position certain artists for long term success in the music industry.”

After overwhelming success and sold out cities from coast to coast in 2011 with the Scream Tour: The Next Generation (NXG) and the Scream Tour: NXG -Screamin For The Holidays, Mauldin, Scream Star Entertainment and AEG Live continues to give young people across the country their favorite artists in concert settings with the next youth oriented live musical event– The Life of The Jetsetter. This is just one of many Scream Star Entertainment related events that will center on various themes in positioning young artists for the next level in their careers.

The Life of The Jetsetter stars Atlantic recording artist Diggy. It also features special guest RCA recording artist Jacob Latimore, along with The OMG Girlz, Jawan Harris and rap duo TK-N-Ca$h. Diggy, fresh of the hugely successful Scream Tour, has joined forces with some of his closest friends in the music business to see all of his jetsetters from city to city.

As a show of love and thanks for all the support the fans continue to give the Scream Tour, The Life Of The Jetsetter concert musical event will kick off just in time for the Valentine’s Day holiday. It’s scheduled for take-off on February 10th in Atlanta, GA at The Fox Theatre. Tickets go on sale on January 13th in Kansas City and January 14th for all other markets. Daniel “Diggy” Simmons has the hip-hop community on the edge of their seats, calling him the “Next Hottest Thing.” In 2010, Diggy teamed up with video director Phil The God to create a viral video that caught the attention of the entire music world. “Flow Stoopid,” a freestyle track over Nas’ “Made You Look,” received instant co-signs from rap heavy hitters ranging from Lupe Fiasco and Kanye West to Common, and Talib Kweli, and quickly became an instant viral sensation. In March 2010, Diggy inked a deal with Atlantic Records, and began on the road to a successful rap career, establishing himself in the lineage created by his father, Rev. Run and uncle, Russell Simmons. After releasing his debut single, “Copy, Paste” in May 2011, the world eagerly awaited what was next, as he put the finishing touches on his debut album. From being named a member of XXL’s Freshman Class in 2011, to his first BET Awards nomination in the “Young Star Award” category to taking the stage “LIVE” at the 2011 BET Awards Pre-Show, Diggy is undoubtedly the most talked about and sought after young rap superstar. The show that’s been selling out across the country since it made its first stop in Augusta, Ga., back in September will bring an up-and-coming lineup [...]]]> If there’s any question about why it’s called The Scream Tour, just be anywhere within earshot of Chrysler Hall on Saturday afternoon, and you’ll understand why.

Yep, that’s right. The show that’s been selling out across the country since it made its first stop in Augusta, Ga., back in September will bring an up-and-coming lineup of hot hip-hop and R&B acts – including Mindless Behavior, Diggy, Jacob Latimore, Hamilton Park and the OMG Girlz – to our backyard, just in time to ring in the new year. The stop in Norfolk is part of an extra holiday leg to the 27-city tour that wrapped its regular run in November.

With audiences averaging about 85 percent female, the tween and teen girls of Hampton Roads are likely to pack the sold-out house, screaming their hormonal heads off.

“It is like an urban music version of ‘The Greatest Show on Earth,’ where parents and the kids party and dance together,” according to The Scream Tour’s creator and producer, Michael Mauldin, who initially created the tour in 2001 to expose rapper Bow Wow “to the masses.”

Mauldin decided to call it The Scream tour after talking with producer Jermaine Dupri about a time he walked through an Atlanta-area mall with Bow Wow and Usher.

“All the little young girls started screaming, so Jermaine and I started talking about how great it could be if we put Bow Wow and Usher together and how all the girls would be screaming,” he said.

And if past performances are indicators of future success for this assemblage of young artists, consider the other acts that have been featured in the tour’s 10-year history: Ne-Yo, T.I., Chris Brown, Omarion, B2K, Trey Songz, Ciara, T-Pain, Lloyd and Nick Cannon.

And if that isn’t impressive enough, surprise guests such as Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Diddy, Lil’ Wayne, Wyclef Jean, R. Kelly, Nelly, Common and Swizz Beatz have made appearances.

In fact, T.I. – whose stepdaughter, 15-year-old Zonnique Pullins, is one of the OMG Girlz – recently made a guest appearance at The Scream Tour’s Atlanta stop.

But don’t assume this fashionable teen trio – whose initials stand for “Officially Miss Guided” – used the T.I. connection to break into the biz. The only female act represented on The Scream tour, the OMG Girlz scored a spot on the tour by winning the 2010-11 Next Scream Star Talent Search, beating out hundreds of other contestants.

Another artist on The Scream Tour with family ties to the hip-hop world is 16-year-old Daniel “Diggy” Simmons, whose father is Run-D.M.C. co-founder and rap icon Joseph “Rev. Run” Simmons. Diggy – a rapper as well as a clothing and shoe designer – is one of the most well-known artists on the tour, in part for his antics on the reality show “Run’s House.”

“Diggy has what it takes to once again have New York City be at the forefront of young rap and hip-hop,” Mauldin said, adding that he helped produce Run’s shows when he was just starting out.

Diggy is connected to two other acts on the tour by way of musical collaboration. He was featured on “Like ‘Em All,” a track by 15-year-old singer Jacob Latimore that lets girls know they’re beautiful despite their flaws, as well as “Mrs. Right,” the big hit for teen R&B quartet Mindless Behavior, the headlining act of The Scream Tour.

“Mindless Behavior has that ‘it’ factor, where all four of the guys have individual personalities and girls love them,” Mauldin said, adding that they follow in the footsteps of B2K or even New Edition and The Jackson 5.

The tour rounds out with R&B quartet Hamilton Park, which has been compared to a younger Boyz II Men for its interest in bringing love songs back to the radio.

“They represent the tour well and show that the Scream appeal is for everybody, as some of the mothers in the audience cheer and dance harder than the young daughters when Hamilton Park sings their current radio hits,” Mauldin said.

Overall, concertgoers can expect “great production, dancing, sing-alongs and, of course, screams and more screams, from start to finish,” Mauldin said.

And how does The Scream Tour sell out nearly everywhere it goes, even in these challenging economic times, especially around the holidays?

“Because we market it to the youth, for the youth and it is all about the youth,” Mauldin said. “In essence, it is the audience’s show, and they are the headliners of the event.”

He added, “The acts are the entertainment, but we try to treat every audience member as if they’re the stars, if only for one night.”
